You can contribute to the CalendarHelp project in four ways:
- You can install the current version, use it while you use Calendar, and report any bugs that you find.
-
You can write and maintain one or more chapters.
Currently, all the chapters are assigned. If you are keen to write for the project, subscribe to the project's mailing list or newsgroup so that you find out if this status changes. - You can formally review one or more chapters.
- You can translate one or more chapters from the original English into another language.
Writing for the project
If you can write and maintain one or more chapters, first read the Guidelines for writers page to understand the format that is required.
Use Bugzilla to record the work that you propose to do. There might already be an open bug for the chapter that you plan to work on. If so, you can find it here. Otherwise create a new bug for it.
Submit a comment on the bug, making it clear that you propose to write the chapter.
Reviewing for the project
If you can formally review one or more chapters, first read the Guidelines for writers page to understand the format that is required. You do not need to know the format in detail.
Use Bugzilla to record the work that you propose to do on each chapter. If a review is already in progress for the chapter, then it might be better to wait until it is complete. You can add further comments at that time.
Create a new bug for your review, making it clear what you propose to do.
When you have completed your review, submit your findings by adding them to the bug. If you have only a few things to say, you can say them in a comment. If you have a lot to say, it is better to attach a file to the bug.
Please make your comments constructive, giving details of the changes that you propose, and a brief reason for each change.
Translating for the project
If you can translate one or more chapters from English into another language, first read the Guidelines for translators page to understand the format that is required.
Use Bugzilla to record the work that you propose to do. There might already be an open bug for the chapter that you plan to work on. If so, you can find it here. Otherwise create a new bug for it.
Submit a comment on the bug, making it clear that you propose to translate the chapter or chapters.
If you plan to translate Calendar itself into a language that it does not yet support, then submit a separate bug for this separate task in the Mozilla Calendar project's Bugzilla.
